What it measured and what it found
The paper describes three measurements taken on 24 archers from the sports committee (KONI) of Bantul Regency, Indonesia: arm length, a hand-eye coordination test and a value labelled VO2max. A table gives each archer's figures: arm length from 67 to 84 cm, coordination score from 1 to 16, VO2max from 2.3 to 9.7.
The conclusion is that the group's three qualities fall "in the medium category". The title promises a comparison between men and women and a measure of arm power, but the text contains neither: there are no means by sex, no statistical test, and arm length appears in place of power.
How it was measured
The design is described as quantitative and descriptive. The paper does not describe any of the three tests, does not give the archers' age, bow type or years of shooting, and does not state the norms used to class the values as medium. The methods section lists only the organisational stages of the work: preparation, running the tests, writing up.
The method explained: Dexterity and tactile sensitivity tests
Limitations
VO2max values between 2.3 and 9.7 cannot be millilitres of oxygen per kilogram per minute: they may be shuttle-run levels, but the paper does not say. With no description of the tests, no reference norms and no measure of shooting, the data allow neither comparisons with other groups nor conclusions about performance. The table also lists the participants' full names. The registry flags the journal as having questionable editorial standards.
What it means for archers
For archers it changes nothing. The study stays in the registry because it exists and someone might cite it, but it says nothing about whether coordination, aerobic fitness or arm length matter for scores, or how they differ between men and women.
