In youth and club groups the link shows up: in twelve young Malaysian archers arm span is the measure most closely tied to the score (rho 0.822), and in twenty-three university club archers longer arms go with a few more points at 18 metres, 6.4 per cent of the variance. Among national and international archers, by contrast, the link disappears: in thirty-three Indian archers arm span exceeds height in every one of them and none of the eleven body measures is related to the score (r = -0.102 for the span index). In 2025 two very different samples, adult traditional archers and complete beginners, find nothing either. Three things limit the reading. Long arms travel with height and overall build, and in a mixed group with age and experience too, and no study has pulled them apart. Draw length, which is what matters on the bow, is not arm length. And these are all associations measured once, on small groups.
